In the current economic crisis, there has been a drastic increase in how many people are staying at the family home for another few years, with prices rising on properties everywhere. It is easy to understand why more and more people are renting nowadays, instead of buying a house. Also, in the UK in particular, the cost of houses have increased so much that now it’s becoming difficult for people to afford a mortgage.
Renting a house has many advantages over buying one; firstly, you don’t have to worry about any invested money like full buyers do, they will lose money if the house prices decrease. You also won’t have to deal with any maintenance repairs if you rent, like a leaking roof etc. Buying a house would mean you have to put on additional expenses such as mortgages and home insurance. There is also a smaller amount of money you will have to pay upfront when renting a house, whereas buying a house would generally bring with it a larger initial investment, also known as the down-payment.
